Camporee (Skyline Wilderness Park) - April 15-16, 2023

Camporee (Skyline Wilderness Park) - March 25-26, 2023

  • Attendance: 54 Scouts; 10 ASMs/Adults

  • Location: Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa

  • Description: Camporee is a District-level event consisting of boy and girl troops. Patrols compete with each other across a variety of events that demonstrate Scouting skills. From Mrs. T: "Our expectations for all of you is to do your best, BUT most importantly, have a good time working together as a patrol and show your scout spirit.  You will all be winners if I hear laughter and see smiles on all of our scouts' faces. We are so proud of all of you and how much you have worked to learn the skills for each of these events.  Work together, share knowledge, demonstrate kindness and remember to show your scout spirit."

  • Results: Again from Mrs. T: "All of the scouts' hard work and dedication paid off!  They all performed amazingly and I know they are so proud of themselves.  As a troop, I believe we represented either 1/4 or 1/5 of the total scouts at Camporee.  It was wonderful to see all of the Owls out there at almost every station competing and sharing their scout spirit."

Camporee began with 7:15am drop off at Napa Valley College Parking Lot. Patrols were in good spirits and, following a quick pack check, set off by patrol for the 2 mile hike to the campground.

When patrols arrived, they checked in and set up campsite. Everyone headed over to flags at 11, and then events opened an hour after. Patrols competed at each station before the day was over. (Fire building, knots, first aid, log lift, etc).

Afterwards, patrols cooked dinner, and troops competed at tug of war. Campfire started at 8:30, and lots of skits were performed.

The following morning (Sunday) patrols cooked breakfast and packed up campsites. The flag was raised, and the whole campsite was swept. Lastly, all troops met for the results of camporee.
