Manresa Beach Overnight - May 6-7, 2023 Attendance : 29 Scouts; 15 ASMs/Adults Location :  Manresa Uplands State Beach & Campground Descripti on: Laid back camping trip after all the Scouts' hard work at Camporee! After driving through rain, Scouts arrived at Manresa Uplands State Beach, which is a state-protected beach in Santa Cruz County. The excited campers got there around noon and enjoyed the dramatic views of the ocean from the cliffside. The beach was easily accessed from our campsite with a paved ramp. Scouts took advantage of their free time on the mostly deserted stretch of sand, eating their pre-packed lunches. Despite the chilly weather, it was an idyllic setting for hanging out with friends. Scouts took walks, read books, and played volleyball. The day was well spent bonding with fellow Scouts, including Moraga Troop 246 who were also camping nearby. Camporee (Skyline Wilderness Park) - March 25-26, 2023 Attendance : 54 Scouts; 10 ASMs/Adults Location : Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa Descripti on: Camporee is a District-level event consisting of boy and girl troops. Patrols compete with each other across a variety of events that demonstrate Scouting skills. From Mrs. T: " Our expectations for all of you is to do your best, BUT most importantly, have a good time working together as a patrol and show your scout spirit.  You will all be winners if I hear laughter and see smiles on all of our scouts' faces. We are so proud of all of you and how much you have worked to learn the skills for each of these events.  Work together, share knowledge, demonstrate kindness and remember to show your scout spirit." Practice Camporee (Rancho Laguna Park) - March 25-26, 2023 Attendance : 42 Scouts; 10 ASMs Location : Rancho Laguna Park in Moraga Description: Practice Camporee consists of multiple Scouting activities and areas of expertise, including lashings, knots, first aid, orienteering, fitness, log lift, and fire building. Practice Camporee is an opportunity to learn and hone skills ahead of the actual Camporee and inter-troop competition. Patrols compete to get high scores at each station, to hopefully have the highest score overall.  [Troop 402G’s knot board is the best in the business.] [Ranch Laguna Park and the surrounding hills.] This year we arrived at Rancho Laguna on Saturday at 8:30 am. Scouts dropped their packs on the picnic tables and assembled to discuss the day’s activities.   Death Valley Trip February 17 - 20, 2023 Specifics for Trip: Attendance: 26 Scouts, 20 Parents, 11 Cars Reservations: Stovepipe Wells, Campground - One group arrived Thursday to reserve 3 group campsites for the troop arriving on Friday.  Ended up needing one more for all the cars. Activity Agenda:  Friday: Everyone arrived and set up camp. Arrival times varied from 3pm - 9pm. Adults and scouts on their own for dinner plans pending who and when you arrived. Group that arrived early, went to visitor center, spoke to rangers, scouted out events to see what would be best agenda for the troop for Saturday and Sunday.  Visited natural Bridge... good short hike, Drove Artists parkway... didn't feel it was a priority but a nice side tour if there was time. Visited Devils Golf Course thought it worth a stop on the way to Zabrinski Point Sunset. Saturday:  Decided to Hike Mosaic Canyon first.  Arrived at 10:00am for the 4 mile round trip hike with 1200ft elevation...
